Beautiful family home with a pool
It was a reconstruction with very specific requirements that we managed to solve thanks to our super powers. The system is ready to be extended such as blinds, security system or photovoltaics. Main components of the system are heating composed of electric floor heating together with heating by air and water based heating for the pool. Ventilation ensures heating of different parts of the home together with the floor heating. Ventilation also ensures circulation of air and a constant supply of fresh air from the outside. It's also used to keep the humidity levels in the pool on desired levels. Water based heating is used to keep the pool as well as the pool area well heated when it's needed. Solution that makes the owners and one dog 🐕 happy. Each one with different requirements. We incorporated data collection and data analysis thanks to which we were able to reveal insufficient heat insulation of the air ducts. Data were also used for optimization of all the systems to achieve a better thermal comfort.
Historic hotel full of stories
This project consisted of creating a complete ventilation control system from the ground up. The system is used to control the air quality in wellness and fitness in a hotel. The air quality control uses CO2 levels in the fitness and humidity levels in the wellness. The temperature of the air is controlled depending on the desired temperatures indoors. Different possible error states will not only be notified to the people responsible but the system will automatically change the control behaviour to prevent any damage. Integration of different technologies has been incorporated to make them work better together. The aim of the control in the wellness is to make the environment more pleasant by keeping the humidity levels within limits and keeping the quality of fresh air constant. So that customers will come there with joy that they will actually rest and regenerate themselves. In the fitness the control is mainly about keeping the CO2 levels as well as the temperature on desired levels. That helps people feel better while moving and keep their energy high.
Air quality control in a manufacturing plant
Fresh air for people. Before they had to breathe polluted air from the machines that reduced their quality of life, working ability, concentration and they did not enjoy going to work. After the complete renovation employees have improved their attitude towards work as well as their feeling from work itself. A huge ventilation unit occupying almost a whole room was needed to achieve that. The unit is also used to control heating and cooling. Starting and turning off of the ventilation unit is a beautiful interplay, almost as a start of a rocket. „FC go. GNC (Guidance navigation control) go. LSS (Life support system) go. All systems go for launch.“ Control of the flaps, motors, guarding the air flow before starting other components such as heating etc. All different possible error states are considered and the system counts with them.
Future off-grid home
We will use different kinds of data gathered to help define the ideal combination of photovoltaic panels and a battery. We have a complete overview about the behaviour of the home and we can calculate the expected energy consumption for each day (and maybe even predict the behaviour of the residents if they will want to… 🙂). We will keep guard over all systems such as water purification, energy self sufficiency or automatic growing of plants. Then an electromobile charger will be added as well as other toys. The aim is to prepare a home that will self sufficient enough not only to keep the costs down but also to make it work even if it were disconnected from other sources of water or electricity. In he further future it will be possible to equip the home with a guarding drone as a watchdog.
